"A Land of War, A Journey of the Heart" On the war-torn border of Thailand and Burma, refugees from Burma struggle to flee the government army and find safety, food and medical care for their children and for themselves. In their own country they can be raped, tortured and killed with impunity by Burmese forces. Dr. Cynthia Maung, a refugee herself, has created medical clinics and a school, trained young refugees as medics, and helps thousands of people trying to live lives of peace despite the war.
