DUWAMISH RIVER BOOK: "Once and Future River"

Cleanup volunteers in kayaks and support boats pull trash from the banks of the river twice a year at "Duwamish Alive" events. The worst pollution lurks in sediments, where toxic chemicals collect and mix, creating risks that are not fully understood. Calsee Robb, left, and Tim Randall, right, volunteered with a group of Boeing employees last year.
