As hydroplanes race on Lake Sammamish, an immature bald eagle carries on its search for prey near the beach in Lake Sammamish State Park.  The  I-90 Marine Center Cup featured two days of competitive racing of hydroplanes and jet skis. It was accompanied by a food fair called "Tastin n Racin."

  • Art deco beauty or modern eyesore?  The evocative art deco design of the once-elegant ferry, The Kalakala, still hasn't impressed the right person in modern times: a benefactor to spare the rusting boat the indignity of moorage in industrial hell. Its would-be restoration crews have failed to interest financial backers for the long term, so the ferry has been forced to move from port to port when money and patience run out and it becomes more eyesore than charming antiquity.  Here it is towed to its latest stop: Tacoma, Washington.<br />
